Which universities give academic credit for a remote internship
326 universities, 226 in the United States and 100 in the United Kingdom, each read from the school's own page. 28 of them say on that page that remote or virtual internships qualify. The rest run credit through an academic department or a career center course and do not mention remote work either way, so ask before you assume.
Last checked 2026-09-19. Every row links to the page it came from; the school's page wins if the two ever disagree. The Fall 2026 roles are open to students in the United States; the UK rows are here for reference.
How credit works with a House AI internship
Course credit is supported. We sign faculty sponsor forms, take check-in calls with your professor, and complete end-of-term evaluations. Your supervisor is Jeffrey Escobar, CTO.
Every role is 20 hours a week, fully remote, unpaid and open to students anywhere in the United States. Most schools in the table ask for a set number of hours per credit. A full fall term at 20 hours a week is about 360 hours, more than any hour requirement in the table; a late rolling start shortens that, so check the number against your start date.

Questions students ask
- Can I get academic credit for a remote internship at House AI?
- Often, yes. Credit is granted by your university, not by House AI. Most schools route it through your academic department or a career center internship course, and a growing number state that remote internships qualify. Course credit is supported. We sign faculty sponsor forms, take check-in calls with your professor, and complete end-of-term evaluations. Your supervisor is Jeffrey Escobar, CTO.
- Do I need course credit to apply to House AI?
- No. Course credit is optional. Apply first, then set up credit with your school if you want it. Every House AI internship is unpaid, fully remote and 20 hours a week whether or not you take it for credit.
- What if my school is not on this list?
- Ask your career center or academic advisor two questions: does my department have an internship course, and does it accept remote internships. If you send us what they say and a link to their page, we will read it and add the school.
